44x32 tie dye dickies painters overalls tub dyed for each color with fiber reactive dyes in two shades of blue's and a yellow make green. (colorfast, non-toxic) the person who taught me to dye did these, and are one of a kind. Don't think i can repeat the pattern. I'm a middle aged man, sorta retired from the bicycle industry, currently on disability.
I have been tub soaking tie dye for about 13 years now. Which started out as just a random project now and then , and has turned into more of a weekly routine for me these day's, i really love seeing the different patterns emerge, for each one is different when its done which i find exciting to see my art unfold. I use several items to get my resists on the material. I mostly use string , wrapping it up as tight as i can get it for most of my patterns, sometimes i will tie marbles in to the material , and use clothes pins of different types to get the different resists.
Then tub dyed in a selected color dye bath for about an hour, then rinsed, wrung out and washed twice. Then the process is repeated for each color.Making for very unique patterns that you just cant get with the squeeze bottle technique. I dye with dharma fiber reactive dyes.
That are colorfast and non toxic.
