AproN-1 Jungle Cloth US Navy Deck Uniform Utility Apron. Workshop Apron
Being a fan and owner of an n1 deck jacket, naturally i had seen the matching pants / trousers / overalls that completed the uniform. However they not exactly practical for civilian use despite how good they look. I'd often looked at them thinking they could be used for something else, what with the large amount of heavy duty material that they are made of. From looking i could see that the bulk of components that make them up were ideal for aprons so i found a battered pair to experiment with. I picked them apart, rearranged panels and chalked out some lines and would you believe it i was right. Training as furniture maker i wanted a heavy duty apron that wasn't denim or leather. I made one for myself which turned out nicely, i then made the other. Then i made some more. So, here they are, nine individual bedford - jungle cloth apron made from usn n-1 deck overalls. Adjustable, soft webbing strap with clip over button fastening. Buttons on all aprons are new. Long khaki ribbons, can be tied behind or double round the front. Fulling backed with calico, adding strength but not weight. The aprons vary in colour, blemishes and sun bleaching.
The material has been washed before making them.
