This reproduction is inspired by an original pair of senior cord pants, a trend that dates back to purdue university in 1904. Senior cords were created by individual senior upperclassmen and women 1940s-70s. From what i've researched, they were made to be worn to school events such as football games.
If the team won, they'd not need to be washed as a kind of collegiate superstition; however, if the team lost, you had to wash them undoubtedly ruining the creative illustrations painted onto the legs. I've been hunting for an original pair for ages + haven't had any luck due to their rarity, so i've decided to try and reproduce them even though they are new drawings.
Each pant will have up to 15 individual illustrations on them, that way each pair will all be different and one of a kind. We are working to produce more hand-drawn garments that can be customized upon request on an individual basis. If you have a pair you'd like customized, please feel free to message me to work out a timeline based on your requested drawings. Sizes will vary based on your own size requests.
